@3 NEW FILES ON CHAOS BBS
=========================
@1I've been mooching about on FTP sites and Cix and
look what I've found.
There's a number of speculative articles from Bruce
Sterling which originally appeared in the magazine,
'Fantasy and Science Fiction'.
Permission is given within the articles to distribute electronically.
I also found that Dave Langford has been stashing his Ansible
newsletter on the Cix system so bagged 'em for the Chaos archives.
Recommended reading for those who want to know who has signed
with whom for what or which author got drunk at a convention and
dangled himself out of a window.
The style is excellent, very sharp and pithy, ideally suited
to this format.

I also found a fascinating piece from Christopher Priest
concerning the non-existent anthology that Harlan Ellison has
promised to deliver for so long.
Apparently the anthology was to have been called 'The Last Dangerous
Visions' and was due to be published in 1972. The manuscripts were
all in by that time, the publishers were waiting and Harlan
had only the introductions to write.
The years passed, he carried on commisioning more work, carried
on promising everyone it would be with the publishers next week.
Authors got cross, tried to withdraw their work, some managed it
but had to suffer much abuse and vitriol from Ellison.
It's an intriguing story of a book that never happened and a
hundred and forty five stories which were effectively buried
by Mr Ellison to the detriment of their authors and possibly the public.
